The short version: Wavebase runs entirely on your Mac. Your audio files, file names, and folder paths never leave your machine. The only data Wavebase ever sends is optional, anonymous usage telemetry that you can switch off at any time.

Who we are

Wavebase is a macOS application for generating, reviewing, and embedding audio metadata. For any privacy question, contact us at funkyvictor@gmail.com.

Your audio stays local

All audio analysis happens on your computer. The AI models Wavebase uses are downloaded once and run locally. Wavebase does not upload, stream, or back up your audio files, your metadata, your file names, your folder structure, or your exports. There are no user accounts and no cloud storage.

Anonymous telemetry

To improve Wavebase's automatic categorization, the app can share anonymous correction patterns: when you fix a category or keyword that the AI got wrong, Wavebase sends the corrected fields so future versions classify better.

Telemetry is enabled by default and you can disable it at any time from the Session panel inside the app. What it includes and what it never includes:

Sent: corrected category and subcategory, normalized keyword tokens, confidence scores, review severity, an anonymous random install identifier, and the app version.
Never sent: audio content, full file names, folder paths, project names, your name, email, IP-based profiles, or any account identifiers.

The anonymous install identifier is a random value generated on first run. It is not derived from your hardware or identity and cannot be linked back to you. Telemetry data is used solely to improve Wavebase's classification quality and is never sold or shared with third parties.

Purchases

Payments and license delivery are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy processes your payment details and shares with us only what is needed to deliver and support your license (such as your email address and order reference). See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data. License activation in the app is validated locally; activating does not create an online account.

The website

This website does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.

Data retention and your rights

Because telemetry is anonymous, we cannot identify which records belong to you, and therefore cannot retrieve or delete records on a per-user basis. If you don't want Wavebase to send telemetry, turn it off in the app — nothing will be sent from that moment on. For anything related to your purchase data, contact us or Lemon Squeezy directly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
